Flea and Worm medication prices
The majority of anti-parasite treatments we use in our practice, fall under the legal category of ‘Prescription Only Medication Veterinary’ (POM-V). Our veterinary surgeons may only prescribe POM-Vs for animals under their care.
Our professional body, the RCVS, has issued guidance that a physical examination should be carried out prior to prescribing anti-parasite treatment unless there are exceptional circumstances.
It is acceptable to supply against an existing prescription at intervals without a further physical examination providing instructions for dispensing have been included.
For instance, if you take your pet to be seen be a vet for their annual heath check and vaccinations, as part of this appointment can be prescribed a year’s worth of preventative flea and worming products. This can be supplied to you on a quarterly basis, or more or less frequent according to your or your pet’s individual circumstances.

You may obtain these POM-Vs from your veterinary surgeon OR ask for a prescription and obtain these medicines from another veterinary surgeon or a pharmacy. These medicines may be cheaper elsewhere.

The charges for issuing a written prescription are as follows: £21.00* for the first item £12.50* for each and every subsequent item.
All prices* include VAT and track our wholesaler price.
