Black cat rescue coffee morning 9th November

Our next public event is on Saturday 9th November when we open our doors to the public for our first feline coffee morning.

We feel this is a great opportunity to announce some exciting news – Green Vets has been awarded Silver Standard Cat-Friendly Clinic by the International Society for Feline Medicine (ISFM)

So why not come and celebrate this with us at our feline coffee morning on November 9th from 11 am. Come and see why ISFM has accredited us!

We’ve rescued a buggy from a skip and upcycled it to become our mobile first aid unit

During the weekends we will be providing fresh water and first aid to hot and bothered canines around York’s popular dog walking spots. This Sunday we will be at the York Racecourse near Cherry Lane car park. We would love to meet your furry friends and give them a tasty treat. Don’t hesitate to approach us if you have any pet health questions. It’s free!

Free information evening 28th July – 6 pm

Please come and join us on 28th July at 6 pm at our Green Lane surgery for the second of our free information evenings. This time it is all about pet dentistry, from prevention to treatment. The event starts off our dental promotion month, where we offer free dental checks and 10% off any dental treatment required.

Information evening 29th June

Green Vets York June 19 Event

The first of our free information evenings was a great success. For some our visitors it was the first time they visited the surgery and we could not resist giving them a quick guided tour.
All delegates were given a service voucher for 10 % off their pet’s next vaccination or titer test, so coming to our information evenings is worth your while! We’ve added the presentation of the evening to this post, but feel free to contact Rob or Anne if you have any questions about vaccinating your pet.

A tale of windows and doors

When we designed the building we were faced with some expensive choices. The UPVC windows were of very poor quality and had to be replaced. Energy efficiency was always on top of our list. After taking into consideration aesthetics and durability, we opted for aluminium frames from Reveal, a Yorkshire based company. Aluminium is a much more robust material for use as a window frame. With proper care, it can be fitted to last almost infinitely, whilst being fairly low maintenance.

Recycled towels and bedding as kennel liners

A big thank you to Janet and all her contacts at Mipilates York
Our patients will be grateful for the towels and blankets that will line their kennels during their stay at Green Vets. Thank you, Janet and Phillipa for going the extra mile and sowing bespoke padded liners for the dog kennels!

That’s all we could fit in the picture. There are more!

Anne Busch to join Green Vets

We have some exciting news!
Anne Busch will be joining Green Vets.
After qualifying as a veterinary surgeon in 2009, she came to York in 2012 and has worked at Tower Veterinary Group, The Minster Veterinary Practice, and Battleflatts Veterinary Clinic. In 2017 she was awarded the RCVS Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice (CertAVP) in small animal medicine. She has an interest in ultrasonography and we are looking forward to letting her loose on our new high-end referral-grade LOGIQ e ultrasound machine.
Anne will be joining Green Vets in May as Director and clinical lead.
