Green Vets – the new independent veterinary surgery in York
The founder of Green Vets is Rob Douwes, a veterinary surgeon with over 20 years of experience.
Rob has been practicing veterinary medicine since 1997, of which 10 years here in York. He was surgical lead and Director at Tower Vets until 2017, when the practice ceased to be an independent business.
Rob holds a post-graduate certificate in small animal surgery and has extensive experience in soft tissue and orthopedic surgery.
After a short period of working away, he has returned to York to open Green Vets in 2019.
In April 2019 Anne Busch joined Green Vets as Director and Clinical Lead.
After qualifying as a veterinary surgeon in 2009, Anne came to York in 2012 and has worked at Tower Veterinary Group, The Minster Veterinary Practice, and Battleflatts Veterinary Clinic. In 2017 she was awarded the RCVS Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice (CertAVP) in small animal medicine. She has an interest in ultrasonography and now has access to our new high-end referral-grade LOGIQ e ultrasound machine. She is much loved by clients and animals alike.
Julie has been with us from day one, and heads our reception team. She has many years of experience working as a veterinary receptionist.
Julie is a keen runner and she can be seen running around York in her Green Vets T-shirt, often accompanied by her lovely cockerpoo Walter. She has succesfully completed the 2019 Great North Run raising money for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People. Julie loves to meet the dogs visiting our practice and her enthusiasm can win over any anxious canine.
Emma has been with us from the start. She been qualified for 5 years and has a Foundation Degree in Veterinary Nursing.
Emma enjoys all aspects of Veterinary Nursing but especially enjoys nursing patients back to health, emergency care, and nursing consultations. Emma is a wife and Mother and also has a Dog, a Cat and 2 Guinea Pigs.
Beth joined GreenVets after completing her veterinary nurse training and has helped with setting up the practice
She is now a newly qualified Veterinary Nurse, with a Diploma in Veterinary Nursing attained from College of Animal Welfare. Beth enjoys intensive- care of inpatients and is particularly keen in assisting with surgeries, she is also an avid cat person interested in feline medicine. Beth is the proud owner of a naughty tortoiseshell cat Rolo, and 3 Guinea Pigs.
